Mineral Roots Nursery and Center for Soil Studies operates at three diverse grow locations in Fort Collins, Colorado.

We believe in mineral wellness, plant vigor, human health, and biodiverse ecological systems - and this how we have cultivated food and medicine crops in various farm spots around the mountain west and in the northeast for over a decade.

You can find our fresh and dried medicinal plants at local shops, markets, and apothecaries.

Mineral Roots Nursery and Center for Soil Studies is the natural progression of over 10 years of farm management, nursery production, and teaching agroecological farming practices. We are formerly known as Berchta Botanicals.

Mineral Roots Nursery is committed to rebuilding the green-water cycle, restoring biodiveristy, above and below soil, and supporting the health and wellness of our fellow human neighbors.

All nursery stock is grown, from hand, using exceptionally regenerative approaches, and with team members that are supported with equitable systems. Our plants come to you with exceptional hardiness and vigor. We are serious about health -yours, ours, the soil, and our ecosystem.

Amy comes from farm folk in the northeast and has been growing in the arid, west for a decade and farming for 20 years. She is a PhD student in plant sciences and am devoted to providing the freshest, most potent plant medicine for community members and spends my days building soil, teaching, starting seeds, farming, researching, and learning. It is an honor to tend to medicine.

Oli Elia Farm and Nursery Lead Assistant

Oli grew up with a strong appreciation for plants, getting lots of their food from their family garden and easing nerves and sunburns with chamomile and aloe. Their relationship to nature really grew in college, when their walks along the Pittsburgh rivers turned into identifying and learning the history of every plant they saw. After moving to Colorado they spent a year studying herbalism at the Equinox Center of Herbal Studies, which deepened their love for working with plants and medicine making. Oli believes that the better you know a plant the better you can work with it, and is absolutely delighted to be working with Amy and Mineral Roots where they have the opportunity to learn and grow alongside the plants they so love.
